Dexter Media Analytics

Built a powerful media analytics system processing ~1,500 articles daily from digital news sources. Implemented natural language processing for extraction of sources, entities, and utterances via online NLP engines. Developed Version 2 with functionality to analyze collections of articles including dashboards with visualizations and spreadsheet exports.

SCODA Data Platform

Developed interactive data dashboards exploring 12 indicators from the State of Cities Open Data Almanac, expanding to a fully interactive data exploration system backed by CKAN. Enabled exploration of 102 city indicators combined with external sources like Wazimap and Munimoney. Assisted in developing an open population growth model derived at small-area layer (SAL) level.

Outcome: Data-management system and data-story constructor allowing cities to pivot, compare & visualize their indicators.
